5 Ways to Make Fitness Easier
Getting into fitness is not easy for those who were never into exercising or struggled with it before. Those who have never been overweight or unfit in their lives will not understand the struggles and challenges of making fitness a part of their lifestyles.
Your success (or failure) is going to rest entirely on YOU and YOUR choices.
No one’s going to do it for you.
These five things won’t make your fitter faster, but they’ll make it easier to choose the foods and activities that move your closer to your long-term goals.
What gets planned get’s done. Aim for a minimum 3 workouts a week.
1. Make your workouts an important priority in your weekly schedule.
No more “I’ll try to fit it in.”
Even busy CEOs make time in their busy schedules to exercise. If your health and fitness is important enough, you’ll make time for it.
Now, it will be “I’ll make time for my workouts!”
2. Limit the number of snacks or junk food food you keep in the house and at work.
You may even consider eliminating them from your environment entirely. Keep the unhealthy food out of reach or out of sight. Out of sight, out of mind!
If that’s challenging for you because you live with others, at least moderate how much you buy at the grocery store, or buy just enough for the other people in your household.
3. Make healthy foods visible and more convenient.
These days, there are more places that you can buy salad, healthy meals, and non-processed foods that make it easier than ever to make healthy choices.
On top of keeping the junk food out of sight at home/work, make healthy snacks and drinks like nuts, fresh fruits and water, within reach and convenient.
4. Hire a coach or join a community.
Accountability can make all the difference, having a coach keeps you in check and helps you do your exercises effectively.
Alternatively, join a community that encourages you to be consistent. You will not only make new friends but also learn new things and get the right motivation!
5. Do less, but better.
Struggling to work out 3-4 days a week? Start with 1 or 2 days.
Struggling to eat healthy for all meals? Start with just a healthy breakfast.
Master doing less first, then gradually add on.
KEEPING IT SIMPLE
The 5 ways mentioned above are simple but very effective as they aren’t difficult to apply. We want to make fitness a sustainable lifestyle, not something that you do for a few months, then go back to unhealthy ways. We don’t necessarily have to go on a strict diet to lose weight, or exercise very hard to get fitter. Start with any of these 5 simple ways and progress from there. Slow progress is better than no progress!
